Scream Management is one of the North-West’s most established casting and extras agencies. The company was founded in 1998 and has provided hundreds of artists for a wide range of clients in the television and media industry.

Extras
Do I need to have had previous experience in the industry in order to join?
No, it’s not essential. Some experience in the industry is sometimes preferable, but this is only because it may prepare people for the level of professionalism required. We will always consider applications from people without experience, as for us, reliability and enthusiasm are the most important things we look for in a Scream Extra.

What skills do I need to be a supporting artist?
The most important quality is reliability. When you are booked onto a job you are representing Scream Management, so punctuality, enthusiasm and professionalism are key. We need to be sure you will be able to get to any job you accept on time; as this can involve very early mornings having your own transport is a definite advantage.

What will happen after my online application?
We open our books at various points throughout the year when we will invite people to join. Once you have applied online you will receive notification of when our next photoshoot is, and when that date approaches a formal invitation to the shoot. Once your photograph has been taken you will be entered into the casting book, uploaded onto the website and we can start finding you work!
We ask that every Scream Extra attends a photoshoot as this allows us to create a uniform casting book.

How often will I be given work?
We cannot guarantee work as it is dependant on a variety of factors, the less flexible you are to attend work, especially at short notice can affect the work that you are offered. Background artists are also required to blend into the background, so sometimes artists with a more unique look will be limited to what work they can do.

When will I be paid for the day I do?
As we require payment from the production before we can pay extras we say allow up to 60 days for payment

What kind of work will I get?
We provide background artists for film, televisions, commercials and music videos. We will put you forward for any jobs we feel you are suitable for but not everyone will be suitable for every job. This is occasional or part time work rather than a full time career.

Kids
Is my child suitable?
Here is a guideline regarding the personality and temperament of your child. Does your child have a positive personality? Is your child happy to work at short notice? Is your child well groomed? Can your child cope with rejection? Can you and your child cope with waiting for often long periods of time? Casting Directors expect you to attend promptly but often take a while making a decision. At times they don't inform us if your child is unsuccessful but of course always let us know if successful.

What would my child wear for the photo sitting?
A casual outfit that suits the child, try to avoid brash logos and off the shoulder style tops. The photo needs to be a good likeness of your child. Avoid heavy make up for young children although of course hair needs to be well groomed. Remember kids need to look like kids so do not attempt to make your child looking older then his/her age. Remember also if your child is pale skin colouring ensure they wear a darker colour top (please avoid white and pale colour clothing for a pale complexion) on the other hand if your child is very dark skinned avoid dark colours. Remember the shot will be reproduced in black and white and will be a head and shoulders shoot only.If you have chosen option two please bring along two other outfits for the ‘different looks’.

Do you accept everyone that applies?
No, we pride ourselves in offering only children/young people into our books accept children/young who we feel have the potential to work in the future. We at Scream believe we give a more personal touch with the smaller amount of children accepted per year.

Can you guarantee my child work?
No reputable agency can ever guarantee work. Once your child's photo is circulated it is up to the clients who they choose to book for each job. It would be non productive for us to fill our books full of children/young people who would have no chance of working therefore all our children are accepted through the potential they have shown.

Can anyone be sent for castings?
Good Agency’s only send children that are suitable for the contract. Many ill prepared Agency’s send any child to castings regardless if they fit the criteria for the contract At Scream kids and Modelling Agency we believe in ‘Quality not Quantity’ and only submit children who we believe are ’right for the job’.

How much commission will you take?
We take 20% of the child's earnings which I am sure you will find is very competitive to other children's casting and model agencies.

Do I need to keep you updated on any changes?
Yes, it is imperative you keep us up to date with measurement changes, change of address, phone numbers, school details and any other details you think necessary.

Why does my child need a photograph every 12 months?
Children’s appearances change frequently and our images need to be current. Should you wish not to renew your child’s picture then your child will automatically be taken of our books.
